Het mixen van zang in Reason

De mixconsole in Reason ziet er in het begin misschien intimiderend uit, maar biedt veel mogelijkheden. Mattias Häggström Gerdt, productspecialist van Propellerhead Software, geeft in de onderstaande video een aantal goede tips om zang te mixen in Reason. Een aantal van deze tips zijn ook algemeen van toepassing bij het mixen, waaronder de beste tip: verlaag het volume van de andere instrumenten als de zang niet goed doorkomt.The mixing console in Reason looks intimidating at first perhaps, but has great potential. Mattias Häggström Gerdt, product specialist of Propellerhead Software, gives some good tips for mixing vocals in Reason in the video below. Some of these tips are also generally applicable while mixing with other software, including the best tip: decrease the volume of the other instruments when vocals are loud enough.

Zo te zien is de interface heel wat beter leesbaar dan die van de zwaar verouderde VST-versie.The classic Korg Polysix software synthesizer is now available as Rack Extention for Reason. The interface is much easier to read than the GUI of the outdated VST version. However, the VST version of this plug-in is very much appreciated by lovers of software synths.

Vorige week is Reason 6.5 gelanceerd. Reason-gebruikers kunnen nu hun instrumenten- en effectenarsenaal aanvullen met externe plug-ins in het nieuwe formaat Rack Extentions dat speciaal voor Reason is ontwikkeld. Zo heeft FXpansion Etch Red uitgebracht.Reason 6.5 was launched last week. Reason users can now use external plug-ins with the introduction of the Rack Extentions format. FXpansion has released the filter effect Etch Red.

Propellerhead werkt momenteel aan Reason 6.5. Deze nieuwe versie van Reason wordt naar verwachting komende zomer uitgebracht, en krijgt met Rack Extentions een eigen plug-in-formaat. Dit is groot nieuws voor Reason-gebruikers en gelukkig wordt het nieuwe plug-in-formaat aardig opgepakt door de externe ontwikkelaars, waaronder Rob Papen, Sonic Charge, Korg, Gforce, U-he, Softube, iZotope en Peff.
Propellerhead is currently working on Reason 6.5, which is expected to be released next summer. The sequencer gets a dedicated plug-in format with Rack Extentions. This is great news for Reason users. Fortunately, the new plug-in format is embraced by external developers, including Rob Papen, Sonic Charge, Korg, GForce, U-he, Softube, iZotope and Peff.

Binnenkort krijgt Reason een update naar versie 6.5. Het is dan eindelijk mogelijk om externe plug-ins te gebruiken. Propellerhead Software heeft vandaag op de Musikmesse in Frankfurt aangekondigd dat Reason vanaf deze zomer opengesteld wordt voor ontwikkelaars van externe plug-ins. Dit is groot nieuws omdat de softwareontwikkelaar uit Stockholm de afgelopen tien jaar altijd heeft gezegd dat dit nooit zou gebeuren.Propellerhead Software today announced at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt that Reason will be opened for developers of third-party plug-ins. This is big news because over the past decade the Stockholm based software developer has always said that this would never happen.
