XILS-lab heeft PolyKB II Player gelanceerd, een sterk vereenvoudigde versie van de PolyKB II synthesizer. De VST-plugin is gemaakt voor mensen die wel graag het (prachtige) geluid van de PolyKB II willen, maar niet veel tweaken.XILS-lab has released PolyKB II Player, a simplified version of the PolyKB II synthesizer. The VST plugin is made for musicians who appreciate the (great) PolyKB II sound, but don’t need or want to tweak all the parameters of the synthesizer.

Steve Jobs van Apple heeft vandaag de nieuwe iPad 2 gepresenteerd, meldt Computer Idee. Je kunt de tablet nu al bewonderen op de website van Apple, waar de hardwarefabrikant een gelikte presentatie inclusief video’s heeft gepubliceerd. In de Verenigde Staten komt de iPad 2 al op 11 maart a.s. beschikbaar. In Nederland is hij op 25 maart verkrijgbaar, wat verrassend snel is.Today Apple’s Steve Jobs has presented the iPad 2, says Computer Idee. You can view the new tablet on Apple’s website now. The hardware manufacturer has published a fancy presentation including some videos. In the United States the iPad 2 is already available on March 11th, in Europe on March 25th.

De mensen van PureMagnetic verkopen niet alleen bijzondere, laaggeprijsde sample-instrumenten voor Ableton Live, maar geven ook nog wel eens goodies weg. Op de website van Micah Frank kun je nu gratis Tectonic downloaden, een compilatie van sonificaties van aardbevingen die door wetenschappers in de Verenigde Staten zijn gemeten. The folks at PureMagnetic do not only offer special, low priced sample instruments for Ableton Live, but sometimes also give away some generous goodies. On Micah Frank’s website the sample instrument Tectonic is available for free. Tectonic is a compilation of earthquake sonifications , measured by scientists in the United States.

Stutter Edit is alweer een paar weken uitgebracht, maar deze bijzondere plugin van de softwaremaker iZotope en de Amerikaanse artiest BT verdient alle aandacht. StutterEdit is een heel cool stotter-effect dat je zowel live als in de studio kunt gebruiken. De verschillende effecten worden naadloos via een midi-controller of midi-track aangestuurd. Stutter Edit is released a few weeks ago, but this remarkable plugin made by iZotope and the American artist BT deserves full attention. StutterEdit is a great stutter effect which can be used live and in the studio.

Een populaire sequencer komt naar iOS. Image-Line heeft een webpagina geopend waarop FL Studio Mobile wordt aangekondigd voor iPad, iPhone en iPod Touch. De eerste screenshots vertonen grafisch overeenkomsten met FL Studio voor pc. Deze app zal (uiteraard) niet zijn voorzien van alle features die de pc-versie heeft, maar is wel volledig geïntegreerd met de grote broer, belooft Image-Line.One of the popular sequencers is coming to iOS. Image-Line has opened a web page on which FL Studio Mobile is announced for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The first screenshots show graphical similarities with FL Studio for PC. The mobile version will not be as full featured as the pc version (of course), but Image-Line promises full integration with its big brother.
