Tijdens de Amerikaanse muziekbeurs NAMM onthullen en lanceren hardwarefabrikanten veel nieuwe interessante producten. Een paar opvallende producten:
 Alesis introduceert binnenkort de StudioDock voor de iPad. Met de StudioDock kun je allerlei audioapparatuur aansluiten op je iPad en muziekapps bespelen. De StudioDock is onder andere voorzien van microfoon- en line-aansluitingen (inclusief voeding), een midi-poort voor een keyboard, outputs voor studiomonitors en een hoofdtelefoonaansluiting. |
 Korg heeft de Kaoss Pad Quad onthuld. Met deze nieuwe Kaoss Pad kun je tot vier verschillende effecten tegelijk loslaten op je audio met behulp van de X-Y touchpad. |
 Akai komt met de EIE Electromusic Interface Expander, een stoere, retro-achtige usb audio-interface met vier microfoon/lijningangen, vier outputs, een hoofdtelefoonaansluiting en twee klassieke analoge VU-meters. Het meest bijzondere aan deze interface is dat hij drie extra usb-poorten heeft. Zo kan hij functioneren als een usb-hub, handig als je usb-poorten tekort komt. |
 Arturia brengt in februari de SPARK uit, een digitale drummachine inclusief controller met “430 instrumenten en 30 kits”. De geluidsbibliotheek bevat vintage, elektronische en akoestische drumsounds. De SPARK kost €500. |
 Ben je op zoek naar een analoge drummachine en heb je flink wat cash over, dan kun je gaan voor de Tempest van Dave Smith en Roger Linn. Deze geweldig klinkende drummachine gaat $2.000 kosten. In verband met de hogere belastingen in Europa moet je hiervoor waarschijnlijk hetzelfde bedrag in euro’s rekenen.  De Nederlandse sounddesigner Rob Papen brengt binnenkort zijn eerste drumsynthesizer uit. Punch produceert drumgeluiden met behulp van zowel synthese als drumsamples. Je kunt ook je eigen samples laden en afspelen met de ingebouwde sequencer. Punch kost €150. |
 M-Audio heeft zijn nieuwe Venom synthesizer onthuld. Deze twaalfstemmige virtueel analoge synthesizer is ook een Pro Tools compatibele usb audio-en midi-interface. Venom wordt geleverd met 49 toetsen en 768 patches. Deze synthesizer gaat €500 kosten. |
