Hollow Sun gooit deze maand zijn samplebibliotheek Polivoks in de aanbieding voor $1 (€0,75). De samples zijn opgenomen van de Polivoks, een obscure analoge synthesizer die begin jaren tachtig in de Sovjet-Unie door de technicus Vladimir Kuzmin is ontwikkeld om een tegenwicht te bieden aan het synthesizergeweld uit het Westen.This month Hollow Sun sells its Polivoks sample library for only $1 (€0,75). The samples are recorded from the Polivoks, an odd, mysterious analogue synthesizer from the Soviet Union which was developed in the eighties by the engineer Vladimir Kuzmin in order to offer an alternative for the synthesizers from the Western world.

Het nieuwe jaar begint goed bij Sonic Charge. De Zweedse vst-pluginmaker heeft µTonic 3 (“MicroTonic”) uitgebracht, de eerste update van deze drummachine sinds vijf jaar. Hoewel op het oog niet heel veel aan de software is gesleuteld, heeft Sonic Charge wel 20 nieuwe verbeteringen aangebracht. De update is gratis voor gebruikers van µTonic 2, een mooi kado van de Zweedse softwaremaker.Sonic Charge starts this new year very well. The Swedish vst plugin maker has released µTonic 3 (“MicroTonic”), the first update of the drum machine in five years. On first sight not much might have changed, but Sonic Charge has succeeded to put 20 new features into the plugin. The upgrade is free for µTonic 2 users, a nice present from the Swedish software maker.

Het komt vaak voor dat applicaties worden “gepoort” van pc naar iPad of iPhone, maar bij de bleep!BOX is het juist omgekeerd. Deze drumcomputer/synthesizer is al een tijdje beschikbaar voor de mobiele apparaten van Apple en is sinds kort beschikbaar als vst-plugin. Most of the time applications are converted from pc to iPad or iPhone, but bleep!BOX is different. This drumcomputer/ synthesizer is already available for a while for Apple’s mobile devices. Recently the vst version of bleep!BOX is released for pc and Mac.

Een tijdje geleden vroeg het online magazine Amazona.de zijn lezers naar hun ultieme synthesizer. Het resultaat van dit lezersonderzoek, de Tyrell synthesizer, werd eind november gepresenteerd.
Het online magazine probeert nu om hardwarefabrikanten te interesseren om deze synthesizer te maken. Ook heeft U-he, de maker van geweldige synthesizers als Zebra en ACE, toegezegd om een softwareversie te maken.
U-he heeft nu al de eerste alphaversie gereed van zijn Tyrell N6. A while ago the online magazine Amazona.de asked his readers about what the ultimate synthesizer would look like. The result of this research, the Tyrell synthesizer, was published at the end of November.
The online magazine now tries to interest hardware manufacturers for this synthesizer. U-he, programmer of the great Zebra and ACE synthesizers, has promised to make a software version.
