Propellerhead Software nodigt zijn gebruikers uit om de Reason 6.5 beta te testen. Deze nieuwe versie van de sequencer wordt uitgerust met het eigen plug-in-formaat: Rack Extensions. Propellerhead Software heeft drie Rack Extensions uit eigen huis aangekondigd: Radical Piano (zie de afbeelding hierboven), Pulsar en Polar.
Radical Piano is een gemodelleerde piano-plug-in. Deze gebruikt dus geen samples, zoals vaak gebruikelijk is. Zo kan de gebruiker zijn eigen pianogeluiden maken. Hieronder kun je een eerste audiodemo van Radical Piano beluisteren:
Pulsar is een modulatieplug-in met twee LFO’s en een krachtige kleine synthesizer. Meer informatie volgt, meldt Propellerhead. Polar is een plug-in voor het maken van ouderwetse stereo-, harmonisatie en granular-effecten. Prijzen zijn nog niet bekendgemaakt (of zijn deze RE’s gratis?).
Naast de nieuwe Rack Extensions van Propellerhead Software zelf is ook een flink aantal nieuwe externe ontwikkelaars bezig om hun software geschikt te maken voor dit nieuwe plug-in-formaat. Dat zijn zeker niet de minsten: U-he, Softube, Rob Papen, FXpansion, Gforce Software, Peff, Sugar Bytes, Korg en Sonic Charge.
De Nederlandse ontwikkelaar Rob Papen is momenteel bezig met het overzetten van Predator naar Reason. Dit is een erg goede synthesizer waar Reasongebruikers zeker enthousiast over zullen zijn.

Pulsar is a modulation plug-in with a dual LFOs, a powerful little synthesizer says Propellerhead. More information will follow. Polar is a classic harmonizer/pitch shifter for stereo widening, harmonizing and granular effects. Prices (or free?) are not yet available.
Besides the new Rack Extensions by Propellerhead Software itself, there are also a lot of new third-party developers working on this new plug-in format. These are certainly not the least: U-he, Softube, Rob Papen, FXpansion, GForce Software, Peff, Sugar Bytes, Korg and Sonic Charge.
The Dutch developer Rob Papen is currently working on a Rack Extension version of Predator. Reason users will definitely be excited about this great synth.
