De gitaarsynthesizer Spicy Guitar wordt voortaan gratis aangeboden door Keolab. Een tijdje geleden was er nog een “betaal wat je wil”-actie voor deze VST-plugin, maar nu heeft de softwaremaker helaas zijn activiteiten moeten stopzetten. Dit meldt forumlid pheeleep op KVR. Het gratis aanbod is zeer genereus, zeker gezien het feit dat de plugin aanvankelijk voor €150 werd verkocht.From now the guitar synthesizer Spicy Guitar will be offered for free by Keolab. Op de website van Micah Frank kun je nu gratis Tectonic downloaden, een compilatie van sonificaties van aardbevingen die door wetenschappers in de Verenigde Staten zijn gemeten. The folks at PureMagnetic do not only offer special, low priced sample instruments for Ableton Live, but sometimes also give away some generous goodies. On Micah Frank’s website the sample instrument Tectonic is available for free. Tectonic is a compilation of earthquake sonifications , measured by scientists in the United States.

Een populaire sequencer komt naar iOS. Image-Line heeft een webpagina geopend waarop FL Studio Mobile wordt aangekondigd voor iPad, iPhone en iPod Touch. De eerste screenshots vertonen grafisch overeenkomsten met FL Studio voor pc. Deze app zal (uiteraard) niet zijn voorzien van alle features die de pc-versie heeft, maar is wel volledig geïntegreerd met de grote broer, belooft Image-Line.One of the popular sequencers is coming to iOS. Image-Line has opened a web page on which FL Studio Mobile is announced for iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The first screenshots show graphical similarities with FL Studio for PC. The mobile version will not be as full featured as the pc version (of course), but Image-Line promises full integration with its big brother.

Rhizome was one of the highlights of the MusikMesse 2010 and the future of groove machines, states Gearjunkies. The machine looks impressive with the four build in displays, lots of buttons and the drum pads.
