Dave Smith will receive Technical Grammy Award

The Recording Academy announced that Dave Smith and Ikutaro Kakehashi will receive the 2013 Technical Grammy Award for the development of MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface). Smith is the owner of Dave Smith Instruments, a hardware manufacturer that builds nice, affordable analog synths like the Prophet ’08, MoPho, Tetra and Evolver. Continue reading

New Mopho x4 demo by DSI

Dave Smith Instruments has just released the Mopho x4, a polyphonic analog synthesizer with 4 voices. It sounds fat for sure, like the sound of the Mopho.
