It’s a guitar amplifier. No, it’s a PC. No, it’s a PC with a built-in guitar amp! The Orange OPC is a very remarkable music computer. Probably at least one of the best sounding PCs. With the built-in 35 watt JBL stereo speakers it is certainly not quiet, so you don’t have to worry about that.
The OPC features an Intel Core processor i3-2100 (3 MB cache, 3.10 gigahertz), integrated graphics and an 24 bit/96 Hz audio interface. Optionally you can install an additional graphics or audio card. There is also room for an extra hard drive. The 4 gigabyte RAM is expandable up to 8 gigabytes.
Also the included software shows that the Orange OPC is mainly focused on guitarists: AmpliTube 3 (guitar effect), a special version of the sequencer Studio One and Mixcraft 5.
It sure looks cool, but it is hoped that the computer hardware can cope with all the trembling of the speakers. The OPC costs £ 1224 (€ 1401). The computer is available from late April in the UK, and shortly thereafter in other countries, reports Gear Junkies.
