It is always interesting when the big boys release a new VST plug-in. Native Instruments has teamed up with Softube and just released Vintage Compressors, a bundle of three compressors. These compressors are based on old hardware models. You can only use these compressor effects , if we understand it well, with Guitar Rig Player or Guitar Rig Pro.
The idea of using Guitar Rig as a kind of host is that you can make virtual channel strips, for example a combination of a compressor and an equalizer. There will be some criticism for sure. This is also evident at the KVR forum, where you can read the first reactions of VST plug-in fans.
Vintage Compressors costs € 199. More information about this package can be found on the Native Instruments website.
