iZotope has released Iris, a unique sample based synthesizer for lovers of huge soundscapes. Iris can play three samples simultaneously. The samples are visualized via a spectrogram and manipulated using Photoshop-like tools. This synthesizer will certainly appeal to producers of film music. A video says more than words:
Iris is available for Windows and Mac and comes with a sound library of 4 gigabytes. You can also use your own samples and edit them to a whole different sound. The introductory price is $ 149 until May 4th, after that it costs $ 249. Check the demo before buying, because this VST plug-in requires quite a lot of the cpu.
