Griffin has released the StudioConnect, an audio and MIDI interface for the iPad. The StudioConnect connects the guitar, bass and MIDI instruments to your iPad and GarageBand. The StudioConnect also works as a dock for the iPad, so you can charge the tablet while playing. You can listen to your recordings through the 3.5 millimeter headphone jack.
The inputs are mono jacks (¼ and ⅛ inches) and five-pin MIDI. Unfortunately, the interface has no USB and XLR connectors with phantom power for microphones.
The StudioConnect costs $ 150, and possibly the same amount in euros.
