The Doepfer Dark Energy II synthesizer has just been released, but the first series is already sold out on the website of the synthesizer manufacturer. Perhaps there are some units available via the dealers, reports Doepfer.
The Dark Energy II is an interesting option if you want to add an analog sound to your digital mix. The Dark Energy II is a monophonic analog synthesizer and easy to integrate into your digital audio workstation via the USB port of the computer. This synthesizer costs 428 euro.
The first version of the popular Dark Energy includes an electronic component which is not available anymore. This matter forced Doepfer to build a new version of the Dark Energy. The Dark Energy II sounds therefore not the same as its predecessor. Among others, the filter and the voltage controlled oscillator (VCO) are different. The VCO is now based on a sawtooth instead of a triangle. The filter is a 12 dB lowpass now, instead of a 24 dB lowpass.
