Akai unveils mini laptop keyboard controller

There is some great news for the mobile laptop musician. After launching the LPK25 and LPD8, Akai unveils a new mini-keyboard controller.

The Akai MPK mini is a compact midi-keyboard with keys, an arpeggiator, rotary knobs and drumpads. And it might fit in the backpack too.

Last year Akai launched two other mini controllers for laptop musicians: the LPK25 and LPD8. The LPK25 is a small midi-keyboard and the LPD8 a controller with drumpads and rotary buttons. The MPK mini is in fact a combination of these two controllers.

And the price? Various websites mention a price of $199 (€143). That may be too high. The Brittish MusicRadar thinks it will cost around £70 (€80), which might be a closer guess. For more information visit the Akai website.
