Review: Xils-lab Synthix

Synthix is a recreation of the Elka Synthex, reportedly a powerful analog synthesizer from the early 80s. When you start to play Synthix, you immediately hear that it is a virtual analog product of Xils-lab. The PolyKB II synthesizer comes to our mind to be a direct competitor. Review: Tone2 ElectraX

Tone2 ElectraXIn recent years Tone2 delivered a couple of excellent synthesizers with Firebird and Gladiator. Expectations were therefore high when ElectraX was announced, Tone2′s new flagship. Review: Waldorf PPG Wave 3.V

Review: Alchemy Electronic Bass

Two years ago Camel Audio released the synthesizer Alchemy, a great VST plugin with lots of synthesis possibilities. This knob dialers heaven features the standard virtual analogue waveforms like the triangle, square or sawtooth, but also sample import. Alchemy’s Factory Library consists of 600 sounds including roughly 70 bass sounds. The bass sounds of the Factory Library sound great, but if you want more basses to choose from you might consider the package Electronic Bass. Continue reading

Review: PolyKB II Analog Bag 1 & 2 sound sets

Last December XILS-lab released the PolyKB II virtual analogue synthesizer. This VST plug-in contains 250 factory presets, which are sorted by the handy preset management system. The presets can be a source of inspiration or a nice starting point for building your own sounds. Via the XILS-lab website the sound sets Analog Bag 1 and Analog Bag 2 are available now for PolyKB II. Continue reading
